Research individual companies in your desired niche: If possible, it’s always better to become an affiliate directly with a company (if they have an internal affiliate program), as no one else will be dipping into your commission rate. My third question is: Finally when i have decided the keyword, the next step is to search on Amazon about the baby shower gifts- it shows thousands of searches. Then how am i to decide which product should i choose- if i were writing a post on say ‘cute baby shower gifts’? Should i look at the price of each product which i am going to add in this post? 1. I think the effectiveness depends on the niche. It is a tough question to answer. It is best to use each of the methods and if you can segment out when you do each of the linking methods you might be able to get a clue about which methods work best for your niche. I will add that blog comments do add a very positive component – more diversity in the linking domains. Sure, they are no follow backlinks but there might not be a better way to get links from hundreds of different domains.

Regarding “convincing someone to buy your product is not that easy”, I do agree with you, but at the same time, I remember all those products I’ve bought online. I did not search on Google for those products neither I went to the company websites to get information and buy. They were affiliate people and their blogs that inspired to buy them. PrettyLink Pro, SEO Pressor was recommended by Kimberley, I bought Profits Theme, WP Zon builder because Alex Whaley recommended. Similarly I bought CommentLuv Premium because Ileane, Kavita, Steve and many others were talking good about it.
